The Federal Government conducted a training and empowerment programme for 30 smallholder farmers each in Adamawa and Gombe (NORTH-EAST), Kano and Jigawa (NORTH-WEST) Kwara and Niger (NORTH CENTRAL), Ogun and Osun (SOUTH-WEST), Enugu and Abia (SOUTH-EAST), and Akwa Ibom and Rivers (SOUTH-SOUTH).

The Poultry management training is to strengthen small holder farmers for improved food and nutritional security, improve production practices, processing, packaging and marketing operations so as to enable them generate income, provide employment and create wealth for the nation.

∙ Shelter/Housing

∙ Space requirement of bird/stocking density of birds

∙ birds rearing equipment

∙ Vaccination

∙ Feed requirement of bird/ record keeping

∙ Daily scheduled activities

Beneficiaries were given starter packs which includes:

  • 100nos of day-old broilers
  •  2nos of 50kg bag of feed
  •  3 set of drinkers
  • 3 set of feeders
  •  Medication packs
  •  Transportation allowances.
